NYC Planner Addicts, we’re back!

That’s right, the NYC Planner Addict’s organization team has been busy planning the 4th annual event which is scheduled to take place on July 18, 2020 at the Dumbo Loft in Brooklyn, New York.

This year we aim to bring you something unique and creative, while still staying true to vibe & culture you have grown to love about our events. We have taken feedback from our past attendees and gained insight from attending other planner events as well. We feel this years event will be the best of both worlds in terms of how planner events go. Part seminar, part expo and part party; this style offers planners a intimate experience without the overwhelm.

This style of event also allows those who want more time to plan, to plan! Those who want to shop, can shop. Those who want to mingle, can mingle. You see the pattern? It’s a completely customized event depending on your needs and wants. We also have listened to the spacing and timing feedback and have brought all tables down to 8 people maximum! More room for your planner goodies! No more waiting in line to score your seat, as everyone will be able to choose their seat when you grab your ticket! There will be breaks between workshops and time for you to stretch your legs outside at our new fabulous location.

Some things you can look forward to are:

  • Our infamous DJ Lena
  • 4 unique workshops
  • Reserved seating
  • Broadway themed tables
  • Swag bags
  • Raffle prizes
  • 20+ pop-up shops
  • Make-and-takes
  • VIP appearances
  • And much more to come….

Planning is a community built on creativity, whimsy and imagination. We hope you will join our community for what we know will be a successful and fabulous summer planner event!

Hi! My name is Liana Rivas and just like you, I’m an addict – a planner addict. Before I get into my planner, let me introduce myself. I am 28 years old, recently married (November 04th, 2016!) and a mom to my fur baby, Rogue. I live in Inwood, Manhattan the only neighborhood I’ve ever lived in. I’ve been a vegetarian since I was 13 and am trying to go vegan soon. I like to consider myself a creative person; after all I have a BA from City College for Creative Writing and I’d like to write a novel someday. Aside from writing and planning, I am a big literary fiction geek and an avid reader and I love makeup; I am a big makeup hoarder/aficionado. I would say some strengths I have are: the ability to create sharp winged eyeliner, I have perfected the topknot bun and I can kill it on the dance floor. Some weaknesses of mine are: coffee (I can never say no), I bite my nails and I live in controlled chaos (just fancy talk for ‘I’m messy’).

Now, on to the good stuff – my planner. I am somewhat of a minimalist when it comes to planning in that I can only use one planner for the year – weird, I know. Also, I don’t carry it in anything special, I just put it in my bag and pray for the best. I currently use a BanDo planner and I love it! I started using planners in high school because we would get a new one at the start of every school year and I would fill it up with notes written in different colors, stickers and post-it notes. Later on, I used the Mead planners found in Staples and I loved those too but I knew I wanted more out of a planner, it just didn’t fill me up with joy. Enter Erin Condren. I purchased my first EC (this was back when there was only a vertical layout) and I hated it. I quickly realized I’m a horizontal planner and I can’t think straight/be creative when confined to three vertical boxes (but kudos to you vertical planners out there!). I have a BuJo that I plan to start using soon to track moods, habits, eating patterns and budgetary trends and I’m excited because I have all of the control in deciding my layouts. I look forward to sharing more planner content with you all and hopefully one day, finding planner peace!

Hello, my name is Rosy. I am a 29-year-old woman living in New York City and I am planner OBSESSED. I have been using planners since I was in middle school, however, it wasn’t until 2015 that I started digging deep into this amazing planner universe. I love everything stickers, washi tape and colored pens. With that said, I decorate my planner whenever I have some down time.

I am currently using my Mini Happy Planner from Me and My Big Ideas (MAMBI) or how its more commonly known, the Mini HP. I used to use many planners but with having a busy start to my year I haven’t had a chance to enjoy my other planners.  I take this planner with me practically everywhere since it’s so compact. Although my other planners are collecting dust, this baby holds everything I need to keep myself in check!

Writing everything down not only helps me remember appointments and deadlines but it also helps me keep track of other things like my boyfriend’s schedule or that most anticipated vacation. Stickers, washi, and colored pens just make it a lot more interesting and fun to adult. The satisfaction of being able to check something from my to do list is one of the many reasons why I love planning!
