Hi! My name is Liana Rivas and just like you, I’m an addict – a planner addict. Before I get into my planner, let me introduce myself. I am 28 years old, recently married (November 04th, 2016!) and a mom to my fur baby, Rogue. I live in Inwood, Manhattan the only neighborhood I’ve ever lived in. I’ve been a vegetarian since I was 13 and am trying to go vegan soon. I like to consider myself a creative person; after all I have a BA from City College for Creative Writing and I’d like to write a novel someday. Aside from writing and planning, I am a big literary fiction geek and an avid reader and I love makeup; I am a big makeup hoarder/aficionado. I would say some strengths I have are: the ability to create sharp winged eyeliner, I have perfected the topknot bun and I can kill it on the dance floor. Some weaknesses of mine are: coffee (I can never say no), I bite my nails and I live in controlled chaos (just fancy talk for ‘I’m messy’).
Now, on to the good stuff – my planner. I am somewhat of a minimalist when it comes to planning in that I can only use one planner for the year – weird, I know. Also, I don’t carry it in anything special, I just put it in my bag and pray for the best. I currently use a BanDo planner and I love it! I started using planners in high school because we would get a new one at the start of every school year and I would fill it up with notes written in different colors, stickers and post-it notes. Later on, I used the Mead planners found in Staples and I loved those too but I knew I wanted more out of a planner, it just didn’t fill me up with joy. Enter Erin Condren. I purchased my first EC (this was back when there was only a vertical layout) and I hated it. I quickly realized I’m a horizontal planner and I can’t think straight/be creative when confined to three vertical boxes (but kudos to you vertical planners out there!). I have a BuJo that I plan to start using soon to track moods, habits, eating patterns and budgetary trends and I’m excited because I have all of the control in deciding my layouts. I look forward to sharing more planner content with you all and hopefully one day, finding planner peace!
